Wesleyan College collects 5,000 food items for Mentors Project

Wesleyan College has donated more than 5,000 items to The Mentors Project food bank. The school’s food drive was for the Cans Across the Conference Competition, organized by the USA South Athletic Conference’s Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.

Sixteen schools participated in the challenge, with each choosing a local organization to benefit from their donations. Wesleyan came in third place in the contest, collecting 5,654 canned and nonperishable goods. Three thousand of those items came from senior nursing students. The 16 institutions together donated 50,172 items over the fall season.
