The contest, held Nov. 4 and 5, was hosted by the Consortium for Computing Sciences in College at the University of North Carolina. The annual event is open to smaller schools without computer science graduate programs.
The Mercer team, called the Binary Bears, solved six problems to win second place. Team members were seniors Brady Brettin from Peachtree City, Andrew Buff from Sharpsburg, Tyler Burnham from Milledgeville, and David Vorreiter from Fisherville, Ky.
