16 Bibb schools honored with health awards
Sixteen schools in Bibb County have been given a good bill of health. The local schools were among 328 recently named to Healthier Generation’s 2016 “America’s Healthiest Schools” list. The Georgia schools, along with winners in Alabama, Mississippi and Tennessee, were recognized at a regional ceremony in Atlanta Nov. 4.
Bruce Elementary School received the National Healthy Schools Award at the silver level. Bronze level awards went to Alexander II Magnet, Central High, Bernd Elementary, Weaver Middle, Howard High, Ingram-Pye Elementary, Porter Elementary, Heard Elementary, Lane Elementary, King Elementary, Rutland High, Skyview Elementary, Southwest High, Springdale Elementary and Taylor Elementary.
