Shoplifters make off with Spam in bag, cookies in pants

Dispatches: There have been a few recent reports of shoplifters high-tailing it out of food marts with cookies stashed in their pants. One such treat-taking happened at the Family Supermarket on Houston Avenue in Macon on July 7. A manager there told a Bibb sheriff’s deputy that a man stuffed two packs of vanilla cream cookies in his pants and left without paying. . . . A woman who lives in the 1300 block of Forsyth Street in Macon told the cops that, on June 18, an unknown person went into her apartment while she was gone and flipped over the sofa. . . . On June 10, someone went into the Family Dollar store on Houston Avenue and, after hiding them in a bag, stole several cans of Spam.
