Waffle House drunk refuses to leave before fixing her coffee
It was just after 3 a.m. when a fight broke out at a Macon Waffle House. Bibb County sheriff’s deputies ordered one of the alleged troublemakers, an intoxicated woman from Gray, to leave. “I am going to put cream and sugar in my coffee before I go anywhere,” the woman said. Details of the June 12 episode at the Riverside Drive restaurant near Pierce Avenue were described in a sheriff’s report. The woman was said to be “very intoxicated and irate.” When she eventually walked outside she sat down. “I gotta have a reason to leave,” she said. “You gotta give me a reason.” Told that she was about to be locked up if she didn’t get off the property, she stood up but still didn’t leave. As she was about to be handcuffed, she threw her hands up and “was so intoxicated that she lost her balance,” the report said. She was apparently so disorderly at the county jail that deputies had to put her in a holding cell “to sober up and calm down.”
