Cop Shop: Man says woman he had sex with took his cash at Macon Kroger

A man told the police that he went to the Kroger supermarket on Forsyth Road in north Macon on a recent Saturday afternoon to wire $960 to his business partner. The man, 62, said a female companion had gone in with him. He said the companion was a woman he knew only by her first name, a Bibb County sheriff’s report of the Jan. 11 episode noted. “He stated that as they were in line, he went to grab some strawberries, and while he was away the female left the store with his money,” the report said. The sheriff’s deputy who handled the incident asked the man if he knew the woman’s last name. He said he didn’t, and that all he knew was her address. “When I confronted him about the strange set of facts,” the deputy’s write-up said, “he stated that the two of them did have sex, but the money was not payment for any of it.” A store employee later told the deputy he recognized the woman and said she “is a prostitute.” The deputy concluded his report, noting that he would contact the alleged victim “to find out if he is telling me (the) truth. Until such time this case is inactive.”

Dispatches: On the evening of Jan. 9, a man at an apartment on Atlantic Avenue off Napier Avenue in Macon told a sheriff’s deputy that woman “from the neighborhood” was “highly intoxicated.” The deputy’s report said that the man, 33, explained that the woman walked into the apartment, sat down and “tried to take over.” The man said the woman leaped over a chair and “came at him for no reason,” the write-up said. No one knew the woman’s full name, but they told the deputy that she “is always coming over.” . . . A Macon man reported that someone ransacked his 2006 GMC Envoy the night of Jan. 11. A sheriff’s report said the man, 32, said nothing of value was taken, just “a bunch of bull---- that he accumulated over the years.”
