‘Unruly’ Macon woman eats bananas, flings peels ‘all over’ store, cops say

The convenience mart clerk just wanted the woman to leave.

On the evening of Jan. 6, she had gone into the Sprint Foods store on Napier Avenue and reportedly made a scene. A Bibb County sheriff’s report said the woman, 49, “had eaten several bananas … which she paid for, but decided to throw the banana peels all over the floor.” The report said she “refused to move from in front of the counter.”

A sheriff’s deputy showed up and asked the woman for her ID. She had none, but the deputy found out who she was and told her she was under arrest. She refused to be handcuffed and, as the deputy’s write-up noted, “told me that I would need backup.”

The report went on to mention how the woman was “very irate, unruly, using profanity and intoxicated, having no respect for” the deputy. The woman was also said to be “in possession of a half-gallon” of vodka, “which was half empty.” She was also said to have had two bottles of beer.

The deputy’s report said the woman later complained about her high blood pressure and called the deputy “all sorts of names, and talked about my family, especially my father.” But when she was taken to the county jail, where she was booked for giving a false name and disorderly conduct, the officer’s write-up concluded, “She was very apologetic.”

Dispatches: In early December, a man on Edwards Drive in Macon told the cops that he got home from work and put his jacket with his wallet inside it on a living room chair. “A few moments later,” a sheriff’s report noted, “the jacket was gone.” The man said he thinks his brother’s girlfriend took the items “because there have been previous theft incidents with her.” . . .

On Jan. 5, someone broke into Noah’s Ark Pets and Grooming on Hartley Bridge Road. A sheriff’s report said the culprit busted a front window and stole a pair of goldendoodle puppies worth $1,200 each, which were later returned. . . .

At a nearby Papa John’s pizza shop two days later, a guy who works there smelled “an odor” when he clocked in that morning, a sheriff’s report said. The guy soon discovered the smell’s origin. Someone had used a metal grinder to cut into the shop’s safe and steal about $2,000.
