Man flips out in Lyft car because woman riding with him ‘talks too much,’ Macon police say

A Macon woman caught a Lyft ride home to Macon with a co-worker in the predawn hours of Dec. 16.

The woman, 38, was in the front seat talking to the driver “about family” when “for some reason” her male co-worker, who was sitting in the back seat, became enraged and said the woman “talks too much,” a Bibb County sheriff’s report said.

The angry man, 69, was so irate that the woman asked the driver to pull over at the Magnolia Court Motel along in south Macon. The man then allegedly threatened her and left the scene.

The woman reported the incident to the cops that night and they went to a house where the angry man was said to live.

The sheriff’s deputy’s report described what happened next: “A female came to the door and I asked if (the man) was there. She said, ‘I think so,’ and went to get him. (He) came to the door in his underwear. … I asked if he had taken a ride … in Lyft tonight and asked him what had happened. … He said, ‘That crazy (expletive) woman. Ain’t nothing happened. She was running her mouth.”

The man was then said to have become “very agitated and defensive” and was soon told to get dressed because he was under arrest for battery.

A woman at the house said the man “has some sort of anger issue,” the report added. “She said he recently got mad at a drive-thru and jumped out of the car and started yelling in the drive-thru window.”

Dispatches: A man was arrested Dec. 16 at Walmart on Zebulon Road in northwest Macon for allegedly cramming into a backpack what a sheriff’s report described as $250 worth of merchandise and “several cups of dipping sauce.” . . .

The same day, another man told the cops that he pulled out in front of a motorcycle on Rocky Creek Road in southwest Macon. The man said the motorbiker flipped him off, cussed him and followed him to the parking lot of a nearby Piggly Wiggly and kicked a dent in the man’s car before riding off. . . .

A man inside the Kroger on Tom Hill Sr. Boulevard in north Macon was reportedly “showering” in a restroom sink the night of Dec. 13, a sheriff’s report said. Employees told cops that the guy, who was later jailed on a disorderly conduct charge, had also cussed customers and punched some walls. “He was possibly,” a sheriff’s report said, “under the influence of a central nervous system stimulant.”
