Did ‘fairy godmother’ deliver chicken to his door, or did FedEx foul up?
A woman who lives in an apartment on Clinton Road in east Macon couldn’t find a package of shipped food that was supposed to be delivered to her door. The food, sent via FedEx from a company named Blue Apron, which sends fresh ingredients to customers across the country, went missing in early October. The woman, 33, wondered if the box of food she ordered, including raw chicken and fish, may have been left by mistake at the door of a nearby apartment. According to a Bibb County sheriff’s report of the Oct. 7 matter, a manager at the apartments went to the neighbor’s place and asked if the box had been left at his door. “He thought that someone had given it to him,” the sheriff’s report noted, “possibly a ‘fairy godmother.’” The man still had the box, and the manager retrieved it, giving it to the woman who’d ordered it. But the fish and chicken that were supposed to be inside were missing. The neighbor had apparently eaten the food. He agreed to pay for it, the report said.
