Slick shoplifter makes vodka vanish from Macon liquor mart
The ruse was simple enough. But it is one that has probably been used on shop owners for ages. Back in mid-October, a man went into the Triangle Liquor Store on Napier Avenue in Macon and, as a Bibb County sheriff’s report notes, “selected” a half-gallon of Seagram’s vodka. Then the guy asked a clerk at the checkout counter if he could step outside and, as he put it, “show his friend” the vodka. Sure, the clerk told him. You can guess what happened. The guy with the vodka ran out and didn’t come back. He hopped in a Nissan pickup and took off.
