Friendly cop does favor for shirtless man on chilly morning
Dispatches: Just before 5 a.m. on Oct. 30, a Bibb County sheriff’s deputy who was patrolling Montpelier Avenue in Macon saw a shirtless man walking down the street toward Pansy Avenue. It was 35 degrees outside, and all the guy had on were a pair of gym shorts and some socks. “He stated he was going home because him and his girl had gotten into an argument,” the deputy’s report said. Because it was so chilly, the deputy gave the fellow a lift to a house on Swan Avenue near Henderson Stadium. . . . Overheard on Bibb sheriff’s radio Nov. 2, reports of death threats and other violence: “Caller advised he was hit on the head with a phone by his neighbor.”
