Indictment in hard-to-solve slaying of man found dead in SUV

A Dublin area man charged with murder in a Dec. 22, 2015, fatal shooting in east Macon was indicted Tuesday.

Torrance Deon Rouse, 21, is charged with malice murder, felony murder, aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, according to the indictment filed in Bibb County Superior Court.

Rouse, of Montrose, was arrested six months after Deleon “Wiley” Hudson was found dead inside his in-laws’ Nissan SUV parked on Lakeshore Drive. Someone had tried to set the car on fire, but the rag sticking out of the gas tank had burned out.

Hudson, 43, was shot in the head.

Rouse was apprehended by members of the U.S. Marshals Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force after someone came forward with a tip that led investigators to think of him as a suspect.

He was booked into the county jail May 20 and is being held without bond, according to jail records.

Information from Telegraph archives was used in this report.
