Deputies seek man who fled after alleged crystal meth discovery
Lamar County deputies are looking for a man who fled after they say they discovered he had crystal methamphetamine in his possession during a routine traffic stop.
At about 9:30 a.m. July 31, deputies pulled over Reuben Cesar Burnett, 34, in the area of Bell and High Falls roads, according to a post on the Lamar County Sheriff’s Office Facebook page. During the traffic stop, deputies discovered crystal meth, the post states. But Burnett fled before deputies could arrest him.
A High Falls Road resident reported about 10:35 a.m. Aug. 1 seeing Burnett come out of the woods onto High Falls Road in the area of Bell Road.
Burnett, who is wanted on several charges, is described as 6 feet 8 inches tall and was last seen wearing a white T-shirt and blue jeans. He did not appear to be wearing any shoes.
Burnett was recently in prison on aggravated assault charges. He was released June 28, the Facebook post states.
Anyone who sees Burnett is asked to call 911 immediately.
