Bibb County sheriff’s deputies need help identifying a suspect involved in the May 29 personal armed robbery at Robins Federal Credit Union, 4245 Log Cabin Drive, just before 11 p.m.

The victim was at the ATM outside the bank when a light-skinned black man with a gun demanded money. When the victim said he didn’t get money out of the ATM, the gunman fired a shot into the ground and again demanded money, according to a sheriff’s office news release.

The victim withdrew about $200 and gave the money, along with his wallet, to the gunman. The gunman left on foot across Log Cabin Drive toward Hillary Place, according to the release.

Just before the robbery, the victim noticed a white or silver sport utility vehicle, possibly a Chevrolet Suburban, driving slowly through the parking lot and around the side of the building near where the gunman later appeared, according to the sheriff’s office.

The gunman was last seen wearing a blue hooded shirt, blue jeans and a blue bandana covering his face, according to the release.

Anyone who recognizes the gunman or his clothes is asked to call deputies at 478-751-7500 or Macon Regional Crimestoppers at 877-68-CRIME.
