A Warner Robins man is charged with five counts of felony cruelty to animals after a dead dog was discovered last month in a Crawford County kennel.

Michael “Mike” Lee Ferguson, 62, made his first appearance in court Thursday and no bond was set, according to a news release from the Crawford County Sheriff.

On May 24, a deputy responded to an overgrown property at 606 Giles Circle and found one dead dog and four other black and white border collies that did not have food or water, the release stated.

The surviving dogs were removed and cared for and Ferguson was arrested on May 31.

Anyone with information is urged to call the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office at 478-836-3116.
