Arrests made in Bibb County car break-ins
Two teens are in custody and another is on the loose after Bibb County sheriff’s deputies arrested suspects in multiple car break-ins early Wednesday.
About 3:15 a.m. Wednesday, Macon-Bibb County’s 911 received a call about three young men rummaging through vehicles at the Hidden Lake Apartments off Mercer University Drive, according to a news release from the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies searching the area stopped two teens on bicycles on Burton Avenue and recovered items stolen from the vehicles.
Arvydas O’Neill, 17, was charged with entering auto and willful obstruction for allegedly giving false information about his identity.
He was booked into the Bibb County jail.
The 16-year-old was charged and released to his parents.
None of the nine vehicles was locked, the release noted, prompting a warning from deputies to remove valuables from automobiles and to lock them.
Anyone with information about the third suspect is asked to call 478-751-7500 or phone anonymous tips to Macon Regional Crimestoppers at 877-682-7463.
