Cops: Crack-crazed Macon man attacks niece, slashes kiddie pool
Police were called to an east Macon home after a woman reportedly refused to return a kiddie pool to a store and give her uncle the refund money to buy crack cocaine.
The woman, according to an incident report, told a Bibb County sheriff’s deputy that a Tuesday brawl on Kensington Road began after her uncle claimed she owed him the money after her child’s pool party.
Keith Booze, 43, reportedly shoved his niece, a 21-year-old who shoved him back. They were said to have exchanged blows before Booze’s niece picked up a home security sign in the yard and smacked him in the face, the report said.
Booze went inside and returned with a silver kitchen knife, telling his niece he would “slice her up” and “cut her up” before swiping at her, the report said.
Booze’s niece got in her car and was trying to leave when he banged on the window, demanding her to get out. When she refused, Booze picked up the $125 Summer Waves kiddie pool and stabbed it with a knife.
“Leaving several cuts in the pool,” the deputy’s write-up noted, “making it useless.”
Booze said that it was his niece who tried to attack him, the report said. Booze denied having a knife at all and said he didn’t damage the pool, however, cellphone footage of the incident recorded by family member confirmed his niece’s story.
On the way to jail, Booze allegedly kicked the cage inside the patrol car and was said to have threatened and insulted the deputy.
Booze was charged with aggravated assault, terroristic threats, criminal trespassing and simple battery. Booze was in the county lockup Wednesday afternoon on a bond of $9,825, according to jail records.
