West Macon store robbed at gunpoint
A Macon store employee faced a gun Thursday evening as two men robbed the 99 Cent Store at 4437 Columbus Road.
Just after 5:30 p.m., two black men walked in the store, and one asked for cigarettes as the other ran around the counter, pointed a gun at the clerk and demanded money, according to a news release from the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.
The clerk handed over the cash, and the robber stashed it in a blue backpack he took into the store.
After getting the money, both men fled.
The first suspect was wearing green shorts, a purple shirt and a white t-shirt, or doo rag over his head. The second suspect was wearing a plaid long-sleeved shirt, a white-with-red billed cap, combat boots and sunglasses.
