Former Bibb deputy indicted, accused of assaulting women and boys

Bibb County grand jurors indicted a former Bibb County deputy Tuesday on allegations he assaulted six women and two boys, aged 7 and 8 between 2013 and 2015.

Jeffery Brian Prestridge, 34, is charged with three counts of aggravated assault, two counts of cruelty to children, one count of aggravated battery, four counts of terroristic threats, two counts of simple battery, one count of simple battery and two counts of family violence-related aggravated assault according to the indictment filed in Bibb County Superior Court.

In the days after Prestridge’s arrest and firing earlier this year, as many as eight women made allegations against Prestridge.

He’s accused of choking four of the women and fracturing one woman’s rib, according to the indictment.

Authorities allege Prestridge hit and kicked the two boys.

In a February hearing, the former deputy’s lawyer said Prestridge was a 12-year Marine veteran and recent Bibb County Deputy of the Year nominee.

Prestridge is being held at the county jail without bond, according to jail records.
