Milledgeville police catch man allegedly passing counterfeit bills
A drive-thru worker’s keen eye helped Milledgeville police arrest an alleged counterfeiter.
Austin Daniel, 19, of St. Simons Island, is charged with first degree forgery and drug-related charges after a traffic stop April 26, according to a news release from the Milledgeville Police Department.
Based on the employee’s description of the suspect, vehicle and license plate number, officers stopped Daniel near The Bellamy apartments and found marijuana and $270 in fake bills.
In the investigation, Daniel was linked to phony money at other restaurants and also is charged with giving false statements, conspiracy to sell marijuana, Adderall and hallucinogenic mushrooms, the release stated.
