Man robbed at Macon bus stop

A man armed with a revolver told a 48-year-old man at a Macon bus stop early Saturday, “Don’t move,” before stealing $50 cash and riding off in an orange Chevy Impala.

The stickup happened about 5:30 a.m. at the corner of Plant and Jeff Davis streets, just east of Interstate 75 below Little Richard Penniman Boulevard and the Mercer University campus.

A Bibb County sheriff’s report noted that the victim had been standing at a bus stop there when the older-model Chevrolet cruised up on Jeff Davis Street and stopped in front of him.

The gunman, who was a passenger in the car, got out, told the victim not to move and snatched cash from the victim’s pockets.

The bandit rode away in the car.
