The death of an inmate at the Bibb County jail Friday is under investigation.
Terry Keith Bedingfield, 52, was found unconscious on his dormitory bed at 7 p.m., according to a Bibb County Sheriff’s Office news release.
Deputies and medical staff at the detention center performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation on Bedingfield until emergency medical service personnel arrived and took over, the release said.
Bedingfield was taken to the Medical Center, Navicent Health, where he was pronounced dead at 7:30 pm. by hospital doctors.

Investigators do not suspect foul play at this time, the release said. Bedingfield was being treated for an undisclosed medical issue. An autopsy is expected to determine the cause of death.
Bedingfield was serving time for a drunken driving conviction, the release said.
