Twiggs County Huddle House robbery suspect pleads guilty
A Jeffersonville man pleaded guilty Wednesday to his part in a 2014 robbery at a Twiggs County Huddle House.
Brandon Perry, 24, pleaded guilty to interference with commerce by robbery and possession of a firearm during and in relation to a crime of violence during a hearing at the federal courthouse in Macon, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
Gabriel Bell, 21, of Warner Robins, pleaded guilty to the same charges last year.
Both men face a maximum 20-year prison sentence on the robbery charge and mandatory minimum additional sentences for the firearms charge.
Perry and Bell have admitted they wore masks and pointed guns at employees at the Huddle House, 5218 Ga. 96 West, Jeffersonville, after arriving about 5:20 a.m. Sept. 5, 2014, according to a release.
Bell took money from the cash register and an employee’s purse that contained a bank bag with the store’s money.
After both men left in Bell’s car, Bell lost control of the car and crashed while approaching his home.
Investigators, who suspected the car was involved in the robbery, obtained consent to search Bell’s bedroom and found shorts and pants that matched those worn by the robbers. Blood and glass was found on the clothing. The shorts had a large amount of cash and keys to the wrecked car in the pockets.
Bell’s sentencing is set for April 27. Perry’s is scheduled for July 6.
