Investigator: Two Macon women found dead in cars likely died from drugs
Drugs are suspected to be the cause of death for two women, both from Macon and in their 20s, who were each found dead inside their cars about a month apart, authorities said Tuesday.
"From what it appears to be, both of them are drug related," Bibb County sheriff's investigator Daniel Shurley said, adding that foul play has been ruled out by GBI medical examiners. "It's possible both cases are going to be overdoses, it's just a matter of on what (drugs)."
After midnight on March 6, the body of 28-year-old Jessica Lynn Moore was found inside her parked car on Fletcher Street, which is near Ingram Pye Elementary School off Mercer University Drive.
About 7:30 a.m. on April 2, the body of 25-year-old Blair Chamblee was found in the back seat of an SUV parked at the Zaxby's restaurant on Spring Street. The engine had been running since the previous afternoon. Shurley said a spoon and syringe -- thought to be used for drug use -- were discovered in the SUV.
Investigators are waiting to receive toxicology reports from the GBI crime lab to determine what drugs may have been involved in the deaths.
