Help sought with identifying suspected thief in Monroe County

The Monroe County Sheriff's Office is asking the public for help with locating and identifying a suspected thief whose image was captured by surveillance cameras Monday afternoon.

A bald or short haired black man driving a Chevrolet Trailblazer is suspected of a 1:25 p.m. theft at J&K Services located at 133 Harold G. Clarke Pkwy, according to a Facebook post by the sheriff's office.

The man is estimated to stand 5 feet and 9 inches tall and weighs 170 pounds, the post said. Surveillance stills show he wore a gray hoodie-style shirt, blue jeans and black shoes.

Anyone with information about the identity or location of the man is asked to call Sgt. Lawson Bittick at 478-994-7043.
