Macon man arrested and charged with burglary of a residence

A Macon man was arrested Saturday night and charged with burglary that occurred in February.

Jeffery Carpenter Jr., 26, was arrested just before 9 p.m. by Bibb County Sheriff's Deputy Tony Moss, according to a news release Saturday from the sheriff's office.

Carpenter was identified as the suspect in the burglary that occurred at a residence Feb. 3. The release said the burglary took place at Clearwater Plantation, but it did not indicate if the house was on Clearwater Plantation Drive or Clearwater Plantation Court.

Carpenter was booked into the Bibb County jail and charged with one count of burglary, one count of theft by taking, one count of theft by receiving stolen property and a probation violation.
