Man shot in the back in east Macon

A 35-year-old Macon man who'd been shot was found lying in front of some abandoned duplexes at Cochran Avenue and Bowman Road early Monday morning, according to an incident report from Bibb County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies were unable to understand Kelly Woodford, who was in pain from been shot in the back near his spine about 1 a.m., the report said. Woodford was taken to the Medical Center, Navicent Health where the bullet was removed and taken to the crime lab. Investigators discovered a small bag of a white powdery substance at the scene, according to the report. No information about the suspect was available.
