A 31-year-old Macon man pleaded guilty Monday to child molestation and enticing a child for indecent purposes in connection with the alleged 2012 rape of a 13-year-old girl.

Sheroid Centez Fountain, of Swan Drive, was sentenced to 30 years, 15 of them in prison. Fountain previously had been charged with rape, but he was allowed to plead to lesser charges as part of a deal with prosecutors.

Prosecutor Che'ferre Young said Fountain took the girl to his home April 23, 2012, on the pretense that she was going there to play with his young daughter.

But while there, Fountain forced the girl to have sex, she said.

After Fountain returned her home, the girl reported what had happened to her family, Young said.

Evidence from a sexual assault exam revealed Fountain's DNA, she said.

Fountain didn't speak during Monday's hearing, except to answer the judge's questions.

When released from prison, Fountain must register as a sex offender and abide by special conditions of probation for sex offenders.
