A 23-year-old Suwanee man was arrested and faces felony traffic charges after he led Monroe County sheriff's deputies on a chase down Interstate 75 that ended in Bibb County early Thursday morning, sheriff's Sgt. Lawson Bittick said.
Olumide Adedamola Adedipe was arrested about 6:20 a.m. after leading deputies on a chase that started near the Interstate 475 exit and ended after he was stopped by a PIT maneuver near Arkwright Road, Bittick said. At one point during the chase, which exceeded speeds of 100 mph, Adedipe appeared to intentionally strike the pursuing deputy's vehicle, warranting a charge for aggravated assault of a law enforcement officer, Bittick said. Adedipe also faces multiple traffic charges and is awaiting a bond hearing.
