A 22-year-old Macon man is back in town to answer charges that he was involved in the killing of a Bibb County Sheriff's Office worker.
Curtis Dewayne Jackson Jr., of Duncan Avenue, has been extradited from Killeen, Texas, after he was arrested late last month.
Jackson was booked into the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center around 3:45 p.m. Wednesday, according to a release from the Bibb County Sheriff's Office.
He is charged with murder in the shooting death of Vernard Mays, who was gunned down at his back door Oct. 27.

Jackson is also charged with two felony probation violations and a bond surrender.
Mays, who was a clerk at the sheriff's office, led worship at Power of God Holiness Church.
Earlier on the day of the shooting, a car ran into a brick wall at the edge of Mays' property at the corner of Second and Ell streets.
One of the occupants allegedly stashed guns in Mays' yard, and several men reportedly came looking for them the night that the 23-year-old was killed.
