Monroe County looking for suspect in armed carjacking

The Monroe County Sheriff's Office is investigating an armed carjacking that occurred Wednesday night near Bolingbroke.

A Macon man told deputies that a dark sedan lightly hit the rear of his truck while he was stopped at the stop sign at Pea Ridge Road and U.S. 41, Sgt. Lawson Bittick said in an email to The Telegraph. The man said he was ordered away from the truck at gunpoint by a black man wearing a dark-colored hoodie, Bittick said. There was at least one accomplice.

The stolen truck is a black 2015 Ford F-150 Platinum with Georgia license plate QFP1813. The truck had 24-inch chrome rims, officials said.

The suspects were last seen heading south on U.S. 41 toward Macon.
