Person of interest sought in connection with sexual assault

The Bibb County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's help with identifying a person of interest in connection with a sexual assault last month.

The crime occurred on Dec. 11 near the Kroger on North Avenue in the Baconsfield neighborhood, according to a news release from the sheriff's office. Investigators are interested in talking with a man who is on store surveillance video.

Anyone with information about the identity and whereabouts of this person is asked to contact the Bibb County Sheriff's Office at 751-7500 or Macon Regional Crimestoppers at 877-68-CRIME.
