14 people arrested after monthslong drug investigation began in Bibb County
Several law enforcement units conducted an investigation for months that resulted in the arrests Friday of 14 people.
The investigation involved the distribution of cocaine and marijuana in Bibb, Jones and Wilkinson counties, according to a news release from the Bibb County Sheriff's Office.
The Bibb County Special Investigations Unit initiated an investigation in June of 2015 after receiving information that Jarvis Gilmore, 28, was distributing illegal drugs from his residence in east Macon, the release stated. The investigation revealed that Javares Simmons, 36, was conspiring with Gilmore in distributing illegal drugs from his residence in north Macon. All other individuals arrested Friday morning also were involved, according to investigators.
Gilmore was charged with sale of cocaine, damaging or destroying or secreting property to defraud another, insurance fraud, false report of a crime. Javares Simmons was charged with use of communication device to commit a felony involving controlled substances, sale of cocaine.
All of the arrests were made without incident.
The special investigations unit in Bibb County with the assistance of the Bibb County Sheriff's Gang Unit, SWAT Team, U.S. Marshals Southeastern Regional Fugitive Task Force's drug enforcement agency, Wilkinson County Sheriff's Office, Jones County Sheriff's Office, McIntyre Police Department and Bibb County District Attorney's Office served the arrests warrants on the 14 men and women.
Those arrested and charged with use of a communication device to commit a felony involving controlled substances and sale of cocaine are: Lorraine Gilmore, 37; Landrous Rainey, 33; Everette Simmons, 42; and Nicrosia Gibson, 33.
Arrested and charged with use of a communication device to commit a felony involving controlled substances and possession of cocaine are: Shonerique Adams, 39; Tracy Allen-Hall, 46; Jerold Clark, 42; Geraldmy Porter, 34; Carol Maddox, 53; Colonel Barnard, 44; Aundrea Maddo, 52; and Gia Smith, 45. Everette Simmons also was charged with probation violation. Clark also was charged with insurance fraud, damaging destroying or secreting property to defraud another and purchase of marijuana.
All the individuals are from Macon, except Porter who is from McIntyre and Smith who is from Haddock.
