Bibb investigators search for armed robber

The Bibb County Sheriff's Office is investigating an armed robbery that occurred just before 2:30 p.m. on Thursday.

A man ran inside the Quick Serve convenience store at 4739 Houston Road, jumped through the service window and over the counter, according to a news release from the sheriff's office. The man pointed a semi-automatic pistol at the clerk and demanded money before taking an undisclosed amount of cash and running, according to the release.

The man was last spotted crossing the street away from the store. He was wearing all black clothing, a hoodie and he hid part of his face with a blue bandana, the release said. No one was injured.

Anyone with information in reference to the robbery is urged to contact the sheriff's office at 751-7500 and ask to leave a message for the on-call investigator or call Macon Regional Crimestoppers at 877-68-CRIME.
