Suspect sought in robbery attempt outside Macon motel

Bibb County sheriff's deputies are hoping a grainy surveillance camera photograph could lead to the identity of a would-be robber.

Just before 3:40 a.m. on Nov. 24, a 61-year-old man was parking his vehicle at the Best Western at 2400 Riverside Drive when a man demanded money from him, according to a sheriff's office news release.

The man refused, and the slender black man, dressed in what appears to be a blue top and dark pants, hit the man in the head with something and ran away, the release said.

Anyone who recognizes the suspect or saw where he went is asked to call for an investigator at 478-751-7500 or Macon Regional Crimestoppers at 877-68-CRIME.
