Four men charged after lawn equipment stolen from Bibb County school
Four men were charged with burglary after authorities found that lawn equipment had been taken from Covenant Academy.
Bibb County sheriff's deputies were called to the Ayers Road school just before 6 a.m. Sunday, and they got information that lawn equipment was being taken from the school. Some of the equipment had a tracking device attached, according to a release from the sheriff's office.
While searching the area nearby, deputies found a plastic cover that could have come from the lawn equipment. Deputies continued searching the area and found a lawn mower outside a home in the 4300 block of Ayers Road.
Deputies also found items inside a home on Ayers Road that had been taken in the burglary. Four men there were taken to the sheriff's office and were later charged with burglary and criminal damage to property.
The sheriff's office identified them as 26-year-old Kalvin Bland of Macon; 18-year-old Anthony Whitehead of Macon; 25-year-old Kelvin Carswell of Macon; and 45-year-old Quinton Lewis Sr. of Macon.
