Man shot Sunday in east Macon

A man was shot Sunday morning in east Macon.

Raymond Harris, 46, was standing on the porch of his cousin's house at 2066 Melton Ave. about 9:15 a.m. when he heard a gunshot and ran into the house, according to a news release from the Bibb County Sheriff's Office. He was shot in his left shoulder and was taken to the Medical Center, Navicent Health, for treatment, according to the release.

There is no description of a suspect at this time.

Bibb sheriff's investigators are questioning possible witnesses and following up on information on the incident. Anyone with information is urged to call the Bibb County Sheriff's Office at 751-7500 and ask to leave a message for the on-call Investigator, or call Macon Regional Crimestoppers at 1-877-68CRIME.
