Macon teen accused of shooting father of his girlfriend's baby

A Macon 17-year-old was arrested Thursday after Bibb sheriff's investigators linked him to a shooting Monday on Chatham Street.

Shannon Dominique Robello is accused of wounding 38-year-old James Christopher Smith, who fathered Robello's girlfriend's baby, according to a news release from the Bibb County Sheriff's Office.

Smith had just visited the baby's mother, who told him not to pick up the sleeping child.

He became angry, left and encountered Robello in the street.

The two argued and Robello shot Smith, the release stated.

His wound was not believed to be life-threatening, the release stated.
