Former Mellow Mushroom employee in Macon accused of stealing estimated $6,000
A manager at a Mellow Mushroom restaurant in north Macon on Wednesday told authorities that over a five-month period, a former employee there stole an estimated $6,000 from the eatery.
Details of the accusation lodged by restaurant manager Sarah Evans were included in a Bibb County sheriff's incident report.
The report said the former employee "would buy a small item on a prepaid debit card," ring the order up himself "and give himself a generous tip" between $10 and $300.
Evans told a sheriff's deputy that the worker rang up such charges on 25 occasions between April and late September this year.
No charges have been filed so far in the case.
