Macon teen accused of shooting 16-year-old with shotgun

A Macon teen was arrested Tuesday in relation to a shooting that occurred Monday afternoon.

Rayshad Demonte Durham, 17, reportedly shot 16-year-old Jacques Houston in his home with a 12-gauge shotgun, according to a news release from the Bibb County Sheriff's Office.

Bibb sheriff's deputies found Houston lying on the floor of the home when they arrived. He was transported to Medical Center, Navicent Health, where he underwent surgery and is listed in stable condition.

The shooting happened in the 1100 block of Atagahi Trail about 3:30 p.m Monday. Those inside the home at first told deputies they didn't know who had shot Houston, according to the release.

Durham was arrested just before 2 p.m. Tuesdsay and was charged with aggravated assault. He is being held at the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center and has a bond set at $16,700.
