Macon teen charged in attempted burglary

While responding to a call of a burglary in progress, Bibb County sheriff's deputies found two men standing outside the window of the home on Cherry Avenue around 1:30 p.m. Thursday. The window screen had been removed.

One of the men ran as soon as deputies arrived, but 17-year-old Wesley Holt was detained, according to a Bibb County Sheriff's Office news release.

After further investigation, Holt was taken to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center and charged with obstruction and criminal attempt to commit burglary, according to the release.

His bond is set at $9,750.

The Bibb sheriff's office is still investigating the incident, and anyone with information is asked to call the sheriff's office at 478-751-7500 and ask to leave a message for the on-call property investigator or Macon Regional Crimestoppers at 877-68-CRIME.
