Bibb County authorities release photo of suspect in attempted armed robbery

The Bibb County Sheriff's Office is investigating an attempted armed robbery of a Circle K convenience store at 2580 Riverside Drive at midnight Monday.

The suspect asked first for a pack of cigarettes and then demanded money when the clerk opened the cash register, according to a Bibb County Sheriff's Office news release.

The suspect had his hand in his pocket as if he had a gun. But the clerk refused to give him money and called 911. The suspect then fled on foot towards Pierce Avenue, the release said.

He was wearing a dark colored hoodie, light colored jeans, white sneakers and a black mask over his face. He was carrying a tan colored backpack.
