Bibb County Sheriff's Office investigating armed robbery of Family Dollar Store

The Bibb County Sheriff's Office is investigating an armed robbery that occurred about 9 p.m. Saturday night at the Family Dollar Store on Jeffersonville Road in east Bibb County.

A man wearing a black mask and all black clothing entered the store with a handgun and demanded money from one of the employees, according to a news release from the sheriff's office. The employee ran to the back of the store while the masked man grabbed the cash register and ran away, according to the release. The amount of money in the cash register was not disclosed.
