Macon man shot in robbery on Lincoln Street

A 49-year-old Macon man was shot in the leg Wednesday night in an armed robbery in the 2300 block of Lincoln Street off Anthony Road.

At about 11:20 p.m. Wednesday, two masked gunmen demanded his money as he was standing by his car, according to a news release from the Bibb County Sheriff's Office.

The man was shot as he tried to run away, but the gunmen drove off in his white 1995 Buick Park Avenue with tag number QFC8976.

The victim is in stable condition at Medical Center, Navicent Health.

The gunmen are described as black men of medium height who were wearing dark clothing.

Anyone who saw them or the car is urged to call for an investigator at 751-7500, or leave anonymous tips to Macon Regional Crimestoppers at 877-68-CRIME.
