Macon man accused of setting a fire in his house
A 31-year-old Macon man is being held without bond after he is accused of setting a fire in his house Tuesday.
Reginald Bernard Hill was arrested shortly after Macon-Bibb County firefighters put out a burning mattress in his bedroom in apartment B of a duplex at 2257 Lincoln St.
There was no apparent accidental source of the fire, Macon-Bibb fire investigator Sgt. Ben Gleaton said.
According to the arrest warrant, Hill said the fire started "because I was in the room."
Firefighters had been called to Hill's Lincoln Street apartment before and had also responded to fires at his prior residence.
Gleaton knows of a handful of fires linked to him in the past 10 years.
