Man shot outside Frank Johnson Community Center gym in Macon’s Unionville neighborhood

A man was shot outside the Frank Johnson Community Center gym in Unionville late Wednesday night.

Just before midnight, 18-year-old James Bradley and a friend were sitting outside the gym, located at 2227 Mercer University Drive in Macon, when two men armed with guns approached them. Bradley and his friend began to run, and the two men fired at them and chased them, according to a news release from the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies met Bradley in the 400 block of Blossom Avenue. Bradley was shot once in the right leg and taken to a local hospital by ambulance. His injuries are not expected to be life-threatening. No one else was injured, the release said.
