Macon man shot on Montpelier Avenue
The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting that occurred around 5:30 p.m. Tuesday evening, according to a news release.
Deputies responded to the Coliseum Medical Center in reference to a person shot and found the victim, 22-year-old Darrayus Kinder of Macon. He was shot once in the left leg.
Kinder said he was walking down Montpelier Avenue and heard two gunshots as he approached Bentley & Sons Funeral Home, according to the release. Kinder said he never saw the person who shot but realized he was struck in the leg. He drove himself to the hospital and is listed in stable condition.
The shooting is under investigation, but no further information was available at the time.
