Bibb deputies investigating shooting in east Macon
A shooting occurred on Maynard Street near Shurling Drive Tuesday night around 9:30 p.m. Bibb County sheriff’s deputies found the victim, 25-year-old Dexter Robinson, sitting on the sidewalk with a gunshot wound to the back of the head, according to a news release from the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.
Robinson said he was walking on Maynard Street toward the Chevron Station located at 815 Shurling Drive when he heard a couple of gunshots, and then felt as if something struck him in the back of the head, the release said.
Wood realized he had been shot.
He said he didn’t see where the shots came from or who shot him. Another person at the scene reported that several gunshots were heard.
Robinson was taken by ambulance to the Medical Center, Navicent Health. The injury is reported to be non-life-threatening, and he is listed in stable condition.
The shooting is under investigation, but no information was available on suspects.
