Man arrested for noontime Macon home burglary
A Macon woman found an unknown man in her home after hearing what she said sounded like breaking glass about noon Tuesday, according to a news release from the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.
The homeowner grabbed a baseball bat and went to see what the noise was. She found a man she didn’t recognize in her home, the release said. The man fled the home toward Montpelier Avenue, and deputies canvassed the area looking for him.
During the initial investigation, deputies discovered a possible identity and location of the suspect, the release said. Deputies found the suspect, identified as 19-year-old Anthony Wood at a residence in the 1500 block of Duncan Avenue.
Wood was charged with burglary and transported to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Complex, where he has a bond of $8,450.
