Rivalry’s sports bar closed after burglary in north Macon

Damage from a weekend burglary has temporarily closed the Rivalry’s sports bar at 3986 Northside Drive, which fronts Forest Hill Road.

A worker arriving just before 1 p.m. Sunday noticed damage to the ceiling and office, according to a news release from the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.

Investigators believe the burglar entered through the roof and damaged the air conditioning vent before taking money from the safe.

The alarm was not activated, the release stated.
